Tip:
Record your choir attendance with a barcode scanner.

The issue:
Entering attendance into the computer by hand is a pain. You shouldn't have to get carpal tunnel by endlessly clicking.

Solution:
Use music administration software such as “Church Musician” on a laptop or workstation right in the choir rehearsal room. Hook up a USB barcode scanner and scan each member's name as they come in. Once rehearsal is over, mark everyone else as absent.

Create a Roll Sheet that has barcodes on it for the ensemble.

Place the Roll Sheet with barcodes on the table beside your laptop or workstation.

Select the Barcode option for recording attendance

Using the barcode scanner, scan the barcode of each person present at the event.

Once they are recorded, automatically mark everyone else absent with one click.
