Tip:
Tying songs to scripture readings.
The
issue:
Getting
a theme across in a service structure is important. If you can tie the
music to the scripture your pastor is preaching on, you will help your
congregation take the intended message with them.
Solution:
Use
worship planning software such as Service Designer to quickly find songs
that fit a given scripture reference, regardless of the song's publisher
or what songbook it is found in.
| Activate
the Simple Search function in Service Designer, and type the scripture
reference you are looking for, in this case Psalm 42. Click "Search"
to return a browsable list of songs which contain that scripture
reference. |
 |
 |
Select one of the songs from the list
for complete information on that song. |
| One tab of the Details screen shows
the books that the song is present in, with an unlimited usage history
available. |
 |
 |
The other tab on the Details screen
shows all the other details, including the ability to numerically
rate each song, such as familiarity within your church. |
| You may also print a list of all of
the songs that fit the scripture reference, instead of using the
Browse function in step 1. |
