Tip:
Create one music file from multiple scanned pages.
The
issue:
You have
scanned a piece of music that has multiple pages, and have saved each
page as a separate TIFF or BMP image using the scanning software that
came with your scanner. You wish to create one music file from all of
these pages in SharpEye for import into Finale or Sibelius.
 |
Instead
of using the "Open Image" command under the File menu,
use the "Batch process..." command under the Read menu. |
Click
the "Browse" button to select an Output folder that
SharpEye will save the resulting joined file into. Create a name
for the resulting file that will join together your individual
scans. Then click the "Add Files..." button.
|
 |
 |
In
the next dialog, select all of the scanned image files that comprise
the piece of music. These are the files that you would have saved
using whatever scanning software came with your scanner. They must
be of the file type BMP or TIF. |
| The files you selected should be in
the list. Click the "Start batch" button. SharpEye will
notify you when the process is complete. |
 |
 |
Select the "Open Music" command
under the File menu. |
| Select the name of the joined file
that you created earlier. Note that if you wish, you can also open
and edit the individual page files that SharpEye has interpreted. |
 |
 |
Here is where the page break was in
the original scan files. Note that SharpEye recognizes where they
continue and has correctly joined them. |
| Select "MusicXML>Save As..."
from the File menu and give it a file name. This is the XML file
that you can then open in Finale or Sibelius. |
