Using SharpEye with Finale®

Here's a more in-depth look at how to use SharpEye with Finale...

The easiest way to scan music is to use the "Acquire" function under SharpEye's File menu. Or, you may save your scan as a TIFF or BMP image using the scanning software that came with your scanner. You should scan at between 300-400dpi as a Black & White image (may be called "line art"). DO NOT SAVE AS "GRAYSCALE" or "B&W PHOTO". Also, do not save your scan with compression (may be called "LZW compression").

SharpEye will bring up a picture of your scan, as illustrated at left.

Now tell SharpEye to interpret your scan into editable music using the "Read" command.
